Aaron Sorkin has said when he created the character Ari was not his agent yet, and he wasn't aware of Rahm. Brad in the early days of the show would say all the preparation he needed for the part was reading George Stephanopolous' book. There definately are little parts of Rahm in Josh, but that came later from other writers/consultants.
